 Mandatory Stage 3 Water Restrictions

Due to prolonged and persistent drought conditions, the LCRA Board recently adopted a new rule requiring all water customers to initiate increased water restriction if the total combined volume of Lakes Buchanan and Travis was below 1,100,000 acre feet (58% full) as of March 1, 2014. Unfortunately, with little or no rainfall the combined volume of the lakes was at 38% and  the new rule was implemented by LCRA.

Based on this LCRA requirement, the City Council initiated Stage 3 Water Restrictions effective March 17, 2014 to comply with the LCRA mandate. Select the link below to see information on Stage 3 water use restriction and enforcement penalties.

A NOTE ABOUT STAGE 3 WATERING RULES FOR THOSE WITH LCRA CONTRACTS FOR LAKE WATER:

For Horseshoe Bay property owners using water drawn from Lake LBJ under contract with LCRA, please follow the LCRA's irrigation schedule, and not the City of Horseshoe Bay's.  The schedules are different.

Further, the LCRA is responsible for enforcing their watering rules, not the City.  Information about LCRA's rules may be found at www.lcra.org/domesticuse
