At their regular monthly meeting on July 2, 2013, the Horseshoe Bay City Council called for an election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. In the General Election, voters will elect a mayor and two council members. There will also be a Special Election proposition on the ballot to "reauthorize the local sales and use tax at the rate of one-fourth of one percent to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets". This tax was first adopted by the voters in November 2009 and requires a reauthorization election every 4 years.
