The Sales Tax Rate in Horseshoe Bay is 6.25% State and 1.75% City for a total of 8.00%.

 

2011 Ad Valorem Tax Rate -  $0.25 / $100 Taxable Valuation

The Horseshoe Bay City Council formally adopted the ad valorem tax rate of $0.25/$100 taxable valuation for the Year 2011 at the September 20, 2011 Public Meeting.

The City of Horseshoe Bay taxes are assessed in accordance with the Texas Property Tax Code. The revenue is used to to support police, fire and other City services.

 

Taxes become due in October for the current year. Any taxes that remain unpaid on February 1 incur penalty & interest, which are assessed on a graduating scale: 7% in February, 9% - March, 11% - April, 13% - May, 15% - June and 18% - July. Each month thereafter incurs 1% per month additional interest until paid.
