Mayor Pro Tem Jim Babcock
|
| Jim was born and raised in Austin. He received degrees in economics and in law from the University of Texas and did graduate study in economics at George Washington University. Following graduation from law school in 1968, Jim practiced law in Houston until he and his wife, Jodi, moved to Horseshoe Bay in 1994. His practice specialties were real estate, banking, corporate, and commercial litigation. While in Houston, Jim was managing partner of his law firm for over ten years and served as a member of the boards of directors for several financial institutions and various charitable and civic associations. Since moving to Horseshoe Bay, he has participated in charitable and civic activities throughout Llano County, serving as a founding director for both the Hill Country Golf Association and the Llano Museum of Natural History. Jim served 2 ½ years as a Director of the HSB POA before resigning to become a Council Member. While on the POA Board, Jim chaired the Long Range Planning & Incorporation Committee. |
