Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Haydon
Claudia was born in Norman, Oklahoma in 1942. She was raised there in the glory days of Oklahoma football and has been a staunch fan forever.
Following her graduation from the University of Oklahoma in 1964 with a degree in Marketing and Finance, she was hired by Southwestern Bell in Houston, Texas. She was the first woman hired directly into management by Southwestern Bell in the state of Texas.
While working in Houston, Claudia met and married her husband of forty years, Craig. She retired in 1968 and began her long career as a stay at home mom and community volunteer.
Craig's career took them to many different cities before they settled in Austin. In 1998 they moved to Horseshoe Bay. They are members of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Claudia has been a moderator of the HSB Ecumenical Bible Study for the past six years, is a member of the Seton Auxiliary in HSB and is a weekly volunteer at Seton Hospital in Burnet. She and Craig are involved with the annual Seton Golf Tournament which funds the Care Van (provides medical care for underprivileged children).
Claudia served as a director of the HSB Property Owner's Association for three years and was actively involved with the committee to incorporate. Her accomplishments as a director included implementation of the deer population control project, and beautification of the grounds at Quail Point.
Claudia is an avid golfer, enjoys bridge, gardening, exercising and socializing with friends and neighbors.
"We have five wonderful children: Scott and his wife, Leslie, Blake and his wife, Kim, Brett and Sean and our daughter, Alyson and her husband, Ben. In addition, we are blessed with six beautiful grandchildren. Horseshoe Bay is such a wonderful place to live and we are truly enjoying everything it has to offer."
