SUBDIVISION PLATTING OVERVIEW An Applicant is encouraged to meet with the Development Services staff to discuss your subdivision plat.  A completed Application Form accompanied by the Submittal Checklist, the filing fee of $100.00, plus a tax certificate showing all taxes paid in full, and all required documentation must be submitted to Development Services for preliminary plat consideration by the City Council. The preliminary plat must be prepared by a registered surveyor or professional engineer. No preliminary or final plat will be accepted by the City Council unless it conforms to the City’s standards and comprehensive development plan, and all required documents are provided. Development Services will review the preliminary plat and make a recommendation to the City Council which will consider the preliminary plat at the next regular City Council meeting. If the preliminary plat is denied, you will receive written comments of the reasons for the denial and the preliminary plat will not be placed on another City Council agenda until all issues have been addressed to meet City requirements. Once all requirements have been met, the preliminary plat will again be placed on the City Council’s agenda for consideration and action. A preliminary plat that has received approval from the City Council will be placed on the next City Council agenda for final plat approval, as long as all Council approved requirements have been met. Upon final approval, Development Services will contact the Applicant to notify them and will obtain the Mayor’s, City Secretary’s and Development Services Manager’s signatures.
