HSB City Response to Mr. Beeman Political Ad in the Sept. 28 Beacon Newspaper

Attn: Horseshoe Bay Citizens

In the Sept. 28th issue of the Beacon Newspaper, an ad published by Donald Beeman stated that a negative letter was recently mailed to residents by the Mayor. This is a misstatement and is completely false. This was clearly communicated to the person that indicated the Mayor was the author of the letter.

After researching the letter in question, the resident who inquired about the letter was called by the Communications Director and told, “The letter did not come from the City, Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem or City Council.” The resident then asked the City to come to a campaign meeting to refute the letter but was told the City does not engage in political activism.

In the Mayor’s monthly letter, she also addressed the letter in her October Newsletter that was sent to the POA Presidents for distribution and was posted on the City’s website on Wednesday. Please see her comments via the attached link.

The city completely agrees this letter is disgraceful and does not condone political mudslinging and will not be distracted from providing high-quality services to our citizens.
